Miane's Run - GreenwaterThe walls of Gateway rose tall and proud over the surrounding fields. They were sheer, smooth surfaces, growing straight up out of the surrounding ground, chiseled out of the very rock with a rising spike of stone at its rear on the very edge of the great mesa. Looking out from one of the trees beyond and above, one would say that the city walls and that spike of natural stone held the appearance of massive ring that had lost its jewel and was left with merely a tangled mass of bumpy metal.

This is a long way down the line in the story and presents something of a spoiler for anybody that hasn't read the fanfic the novel and short stories are based on.

There is currently a contest for coloring this piece:

Coloring ContestI've recently received two commissions from :iconFredGDPerry: and I am commissioning comics from :iconInframan: as part of a commercial project. I need a colorist for the comics once I have received them all (the last page should be commissioned in April). So I have an idea. I'm putting forth these two commissions:

as the objects of a contest. I will choose the best coloration of each of the two commissions and those winners will get $40. (if you want DA points I can do that instead.) Of those two winners, I'll choose one to do the colorations of the 8 comic pages at $30 a piece for a total of $240. There might be 9th and 10th pages as well. The coloration of the comic pages will be paid in advance piece by piece, 3-4 pages per month. I won't expect any work to be done until after each payment is made. (so May, June, July, maybe August...$90-$120 each of those months). The contest will end on Febru
