Divine Blood Minor-Races Civilians Set 3

These are more of the minor races detailed in the DB RPG book. Left to right we have:

Wolfen Seeing Eye Dog
Male Vampyr Librarian
Seraphim Teacher
Male Gorgon Layabout
Female Chiang shih at-home IT tech
Troll Chef

Wolfen are sentient wolves. They are capable of some shapechanging feats such as appearing to be other sorts of canines as well as growing and shrinking. They also have specific telepathic Talents allowing them to control animals and to communicate with more common sentients. There are not many wolfen, most live deep in the wilderness, however, some packs dwell within the cities disguised as wild dogs or else connected to Psyche's havens and other facilities. While they lack hands, they compensate by controlling small animals to act as their hands and tools. They have no particular distaste for humanity, feeling that the situation as it stands is the natural result of having such a clear apex predator. They also have a reputation for being rational and cooperative for the most part.

Wolfen life force is bronze in color and is referred to as "Heart".

Vampyr are an off-shoot of the human species. Like the sidhe, they evolved naturally, and they also depend on humanity for reproducing. Unlike the sidhe, their bloodline is inconsistent. The parents of most vampyr are human and most vampyr have human children. The fact that this is true even in the rare cases where both parents are vampyr means that there is probably a complex string of genetics at work. The rarity of vampyr birth would usually mark them as a Talent rather than a full species. From a genetic, biological standpoint, vampyr are human. It is just psychics that term them a separate species due to the differences in life force color between a human and a vampyr. Vampyr are a "necrotic" race, meaning that they evolved in response to the high activity of a particular sort of blood-drinking undead in the Eastern European regions. They mimic the undead to a degree and have an easy time with actual stealth and in learning cloaking skills. Some few have an exchange-type healing ability where they are able to draw on the life force of one creature to heal another. Vampyr also have a sense for when true undead are present. However, the last true undead was sealed over a hundred years ago. It is hoped that the seals on those entities remain firm for several hundred more years at least, preferably thousands.

Vampyr life force is grayish green, noticeably different from human green, and is referred to as "Breath".

Seraphim are one of the races created by the Gods. These in particular were created by the leader of the Tinia Royal Guard, Lady Nike Tinia. Like succubi, seraphim are presumed extinct. Also like the succubi, dvergar and trolls, they've seen a resurgence of population due to Socrates Group finding colonies in the surrounding dimensional shards and arranging immigration to Earth. Most seraphim on Earth are thus connected to the US Navy and Socrates Group in particular. Seraphim are peculiar in that they don't naturally have a gender. They also only rarely have gender identities and don't particularly understand gender or sexuality. They reproduce through a version of the Gods' homonculus methods, essentially they are all clones. Some rare seraphim find themselves identifying as either male or female, something which confuses the bulk of the species, and their are rare instances of such seraphim using shaping rituals to give themselves a true gender. The handful of cases where these seraphim have started a sexual relationship and bore or sired children, the offspring are referred to as nephillum.

Seraphim life force is goldenrod in color and referred to as "Grace".

Gorgons, like Vampyr, are a "latent" species that can be born from normal humans occasionally. It is suspected that modern gorgons are expressions of multiple other species whose DNA has entered the human genome via interbreeding between the sentient species. However, it is known for certain that gorgons sprang from a clan of therianthropes that had dropped the wolf forms and taken up snake forms. They were supposed destroyed by Alexander the Great, though given that not every gorgon expresses as a gorgon in their life and that gorgons can have human children, all he managed to do was spread the bloodline east. Which is where they intermixed with some of the last nagas. Unlike the vampyr, the gorgon potential can be found throughout Europe, Asia and Africa, and it has entered Native American populations as well. Gorgons are primarily shapechangers, though they are limited in some regards, their basic upper body usually does not change, though some details do. Their abilities are connected firmly to their emotions, as is their shape. A relaxed gorgon looks pleasant and more or less harmless, an angry or frightened gorgon begins to look monstrous. The famous petrifying stare of the Medusa myth as well as the healing alluded to are rare Talents in this rare species.

Gorgon life force is silver and referred to as "Entity". (Not to be confused with "entities" which are creatures with a soul but no physical body such as ghosts)

Chiang-shih are one of the vampire races, but they are a natural evolution of the spider. They share some common ancestors with the jorougumo (set 1), but took clearly different paths. Chiang shih are almost skeletally thin and have blue, grey and green skin tones. To human attitudes, they often appear to be walking corpses, hence the name "corpse-demon". Chiang-shih do not dislike dealing with humans the way that the gargoyles do, but they are similar in that they do not find humanity generally attractive. They tend to view humans and most other species as unhealthily obese, even with the intellectual knowledge of what is healthy for humans. They evolved to mimic the base human shape, but there has been very little genetic crossover for the two species since neither side finds the other attractive. Actual obese individuals horrify them. Most chiang shih are borderline agoraphobic and prefer to avoid leaving their homes if at all possible. With the rise of the internet, they have taken to entering the internet workforce. The rise of Burma scattered the species and it is expected that they will dwindle to extinction unless something changes.

Chiang shih life force is brownish-yellow and referred to as "Shengji".

Trolls are an entirely male species of changeling brought into existence as a result of Demonic experimentation. Trolls range from six to nine feet in height and naturally are entirely male. They reproduce with women of other species, mostly humans. There have been some jokes relating to the size of certain anatomical features as being small in comparison to the rest of their body as a result. The male children of these pairings eventually start to express as trolls as they hit puberty, skin turning purple and facial structures becoming more neanderthal or cro magnon in appearance. Female children remain human but often have a purplish tinge to their extremities and darker than normal teeth and nails. Several thousand years ago, roughly a thousand trolls tried an experiment to produce a female troll using dryad fruit. Of the thousand, twenty-three survived to become purple-skinned dryads with a proportion like human women and one survived to be an oread, and thus remained male. These twenty-three dryads are referred to as the troll brides. Trolls tend to be possessive or protective of their families, with the more tyrannical sorts being the most well known in myth and legend. Not many trolls are naturally psychic, with only humans having a smaller percentage. In addition, they have a wide variety of Talents for a race of such a low population. Out of the fewer than five thousand trolls living on Earth, two or three hundred are Talents, and most don't have the same Talent. Trolls weren't eliminated from Earth during the purges the way seraphim and succubi were, but their population had been dwindling until Socrates Group encountered trolls in the dimensional shards. As of yet, the two groups of trolls have not encountered each other knowingly so most Earth-born trolls don't realize that there are large populations of their kind off Earth.

Troll life force is Reddish-Violet in color and is referred to as "Potence".

With the minor races finished here, next are coming the Demons, Gods and Humans followed by the "bad-ass" line-ups of the minor races.
