1) Do you have the guts to answer these questions and post them as "The Controversial Survey?"
Apparently so.
2) Would you do meth if it was legalized?
No. I have a sense of self-preservation that extends to my higher-brain function.
3) Abortion: for or against it?
Against it. Sorry, but I think it's a life and taking the choice away from the child to be is abhorrent.
4) Would our country fall with a woman President?
I grew up hearing about Margret Thatcher across the pond, doubt we'd have any trouble with a female president.
5) Do you support the death penalty?
Punishment is God's purview, but the government has a responsibility to protect its citizens from individuals that have proven they're unwilling to follow the agreed upon codes of behavior of the civilization. Simply put, if you don't want the rules of civilization, you have to do without the protections as well.
6) Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?
Doubt it's really any worse than alcohol save that alcohol doesn't wrap in unwilling participants
7) Are you for or against premarital sex?
I don't really believe it's a sin, marriage is a governmental procedure more often a matter of business, historically, than love. However, I'm waiting at least.
8) Do you believe in God?
Yes, and though the Catholic view is probably the predominant one as I was raised that way, but I tend to view that every religion has God at its center in someway. Even the Greek pantheon of dieties we know so well had laws and rules they had to follow set on them by a higher authority.
9) Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized?
I don't think I could care less.
10) A 12 year old girl has a baby, Then what?
Adoption and investigation. There are many ways that could happen, but I don't think any in this day and age are legal.
11) Should the alcohol age be lowered to 18?
The brain continues developing until well into the 20s, 25 seems to be the safest guess of a finishing point. Repeated use of a mind-altering substance during this time period causes the brain to develop as if said substance were a normal part of life and thus makes addiction more intense, more likely and more permanent. As such, I really don't suggest imbibing anything habit forming until you are nearly 30.
12) Should the war in Iraq be called off?
Because that worked so well for us the first time? Hell no. Pulling out of the Middle East early is what has us in this position in the first place. We funnelled millions, maybe billions, of dollars into the Middle East to stop the USSR from pressing in, which was successful. However, immediately afterward we couldn't spend a $100,000 to help rebuild a school? No, pulling out just means worse troubles later.
13) Assisted suicide is illegal, do you agree?
Catholic. Suicide one of the most, if not the most, unforgiveable sin of the lot.
14) Do you believe in spanking your children?
Have no children, but don't really believe so anyway....not that I haven't wanted to throttle some of my students at times.
15) Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?
As someone else noted, burning a flag is the preferred way to honorably dispose of a flag.
16) A mother is declared innocent after murdering her 5 children?
That is not a question, that is a poorly punctuated statement.
17 )Are you afraid others will judge you after reading some of your answers?
Isn't that the point?
