:iconjohnbecaro: :icondark-vanessa: and :iconsoniamatas:

This is another set of artists that I've enjoyed working with.  X0ni did the character art for my Zodiacs books, Dark Vanessa has done a couple of pieces for me of various types and John Becaro has been doing occasional pieces for me when I have the money for a while now.

Actually, these three always seem to be busy, frequently with waiting lists in the double digits, so not sure they need MY help getting their name out.  In fact, I tend to ask for their help sharing out links to my novels so that their following can see my novels, but still...I'm doing this based on them being great artists I enjoy working with and that's plenty.

:iconjohnbecaro: is a professional comic artist out of the Philippines, :icondark-vanessa: is an animal-lover and artist from Argentina and :iconsoniamatas: is a commissioned artist and student out of Spain.

First I'm going to go over :iconjohnbecaro:'s work for me:

Wyrmling by John Becaro by Thrythlind Divine Blood by John Becaro by Thrythlind Lu and Robles - Bystander by Thrythlind

I currently only have these three pieces from him unfortunately.  A lot of the time he's either full up on commissions or I'm lacking money because I live paycheck to paycheck.

I really should make more use of this excellent artist.  Hopefully if my current job prospect pans out, that'll be the case.

In any case, first we have my city of heroes fire-fire tanker, Wyrmling in all her kaiju glory, originally a wallflower graduate student in genetic studies, her ability to now become a 7"8" Godzilla-girl has awakened a much more...playful nature.

He chose her out of many other characters to draw.  Part of my experiment with giving the artist the option of who to draw of my many characters.

The second is the cast to the original version of Divine Blood, Kagome Chidori and Sousuke Sagara quite obviously do not belong to me, which is why the original Divine Blood is firmly fanfiction.  And Naiki has gone through fairly extensive re-imagining since this was done as her originally envisioned confrontational manner became more playful and Deimosu took on the more unreasonable aspects that Naiki was originally going to have.  Eija also had some minor re-imagining from this point, but she remained the most like she started.

The third is a picture of Lucretia, the main character from Bystander, and Genevieve Robles, who is her head bodyguard.  They have something like a little-sister/big-sister relationship that is SOOOO much fun to write....I plan to upload some extra public chapters for Bystander later, and I think the scene where Robles shows Lucretia the difference in their ability to handle a confrontation is a good one to show their overall relationship.

:iconjohnbecaro: is currently doing another piece for me of Lilitu from Divine Blood, the published version.  But I'll wait til I see it to comment on it

I love this guy's use of color and action poses.  He really does get an excellent impression of the characters you give him.

onto :icondark-vanessa:

Another great artist who I have a bad tendency to not have money while she's open for commissions.

Dark Vanessa's main penchant is out and out sexy work, often with an edge to it.  She has some works that range from the twisted to the touching and covers a broad range of emotion and appeal.

Ryoko Saotome Fan Art by Thrythlind Vampire Goth - Witch Costume by Thrythlind Runya Sulemar by DarkVanessa by Thrythlind

The first piece she did for me is of Ryoko Hakubi and Ranma Saotome from my fanfiction "Ryoko Saotome".  And it is a wonderfully emotive piece of work showing some sense of vulnerability in both characters as well as how close they get by the end of that story.

The second is of Goth, my shape-shifter with a love for sexified movie monsters.  That's Goth in her vampire form and wearing a witch's costume (the costume is more accurate) I especially love how Goth's tattoos, purple hair and cybernetic eye (the yellow one) came out.

The third is of Runya Sulemar, who is essentially the paladin of my fantasy novel, Greenwater.  Once again, she came out with an excellent piece of work.  Though it is rather more clean than Runya is in the book (after more than a year lost in a "swamp")

:iconsoniamatas: is the second artist I dealt with specifically for getting art for a commercial project, the first was Kay Allen of Epilogue.net who now no longer have contact with.

She did seven pieces of character art for my Zodiac setting as follows:

Jun the Cook by Thrythlind Zodiacs: Enkil - The Fighter by Thrythlind Zodiacs: Sigurd: The Traveller by Thrythlind
The Woman With No Name by Thrythlind Zodiacs: Xun Fu - The Thief by Thrythlind Zodiacs: Acacia - The New by Thrythlind
Zodiacs: Adrasteia by Thrythlind

The greatest thing about her is the amazing variety of her faces...Acacia looks like a younger Adrasteia slightly, but that's because she's SUPPOSED to.  Sigurd, Xun Fu and Enkil have very different facial features, as do Jun, "Coral" and Acacia/Adrasteia.  The body shapes are different and the amount of detail on the clothing is intense and amazing!

Really, all three of these are GREAT artists to be paid attention to.
